DIN Handbook 401 "Iron and steel: Quality standards 1 - General" is part of the DIN Handbook series containing quality standards for steel and steel products and relevant basic standards in this sector. This sixth edition of DIN Handbook 401 contains 39 standards on iron and steel dealing with terminology, material designations, general technical delivery conditions, testing, surface quality, sample preparation and inspection documents. There are four new additions to this DIN Handbook: DIN EN 10314, DIN EN ISO 4885, DIN EN ISO 9712 and DIN EN ISO 10893. 15 standards have been revised for this edition, including DIN EN 10027 Part 1 and 2 covering designation systems for steels, the DIN EN 10228 series of standards on non-destructive testing of steel forgings and the DIN EN ISO series of standards on steel for the reinforcement and prestressing of concrete (test methods).
