This work presents the application, adaption and extension of approaches from projection-based model reduction to computational biomedical models. Focus is laid on a patient-specific model of the abdominal aortic aneurysm as well as cardiac mechanics. We investigate challenges such as prestressed geometries, hyper reduction of multiple nonlinear system components as well as multidimensional model sampling for reduced-order basis construction and validate resulting reduced models in the biomedical context.
